The Full Recipe

My name is Michael Guthrey, but many know me as Gup. 

I have worked most of my life just to get by, but in 2019 I said no more! I began my educational journey with the goal of working in a career field that I loved, one that I wanted to be at every day.

That is the dream right? Well, nothing is stopping me. I have an immense passion for tabletop gaming and the joy can it brings to people. It has been a long journey, but though it has just really begun, I've already felt my heart pulled.

While running a tabletop area for GalaxyCon, I met a family who had an insane impact on my ... well my reassurance. The family played multiple games that weekend and had told me a story of how they had tried to start, but couldn't learn to play [D&D] and had become frustrated. The one of the kids, rarely emerging from his shell, opened up immediately when the game started, I've never seen such a contagious laugh.

After the game the family expressed so much gratitude and for me, the game was phenomenal. After the last game, I found them in the hall and gave them my original Monster Manual and Players Handbook in hopes they would keep going.

I have been fortunate to remain in contact and get to see updates as he runs his OWN games in a school club!
